Ear Pinning - Otoplasty

In the majority of cases, shaping the cartilage and changing the angles  with permanent stitches provide excellent results.   Most of the patients in this group are suitable for "crop ear surgery" or "rope ear aesthetics". In this technique, no incision is made outside the 2 or 3 needle entry holes behind the ear. The patient has the chance to see the new shape of the ears during the operation or at the end of the operation.    I have been using this technique safely since the early 2000s.

In cases that require an incision, all incisions remain behind the ear and no visible scar remains. With or without an incision, the surgical technique is the same. Therefore, no difference is expected in terms of permanence or success.

Techniques requiring cartilage removal in adult ages may require cartilage in people with hard cartilage, even in ossified ears, in people with large ears or severe deformity. Cartilage is shaped by an incision made behind the ear and the excess is removed. Again, intervention with local anesthesia is possible. Dressing will be done after surgery. The operation time does not exceed 1 hour.
