Before Thigh Lift
Smoking is a major risk factor that can cause skin necrosis or wound dehiscence. Systemic diseases may affect also impair wound healing. Use of certain medicines or herbal supplements that can increase bleeding should be stopped.
Patients are informed about the surgical cuts and possible scars before the operation.
There are two basic thighplasty techniques. Appropriate technique to be applied is determined with physical examination, peroperatively.
Minimal thigh lift can be done with incisions limited to the groin area in the presence of slight sagging. Liposuction is almost always a component of this procedure.
Patients with severe sagging require tissue removal from the groin down to the knee using an incision along the inner thigh- Regular or Full thigh lift.
Lower torso laxity, droopy buttocks generally accompany saggy thighs. These problems should also be addressed and a lower body lift (belt lipectomy+ buttock lift+ thigh lift) may be carried out to correct these deformities at the same session
