Gynemastia can be seen in 75% of adolescent men that generally regresses within 2 years. It is reported in up to 40-60% of the male population.

It is known that change in testosterone / estrogen ratio is triggers this condition. However, the exact cause cannot be determined in 90-95% of the patients.

In the remaining patient group

  • Chronic drug use (anti depressants, prostate, heart and ulcer drugs, some diuretics, estrogen and androgen containing drugs)

  • Alcohol use

  • Advanced age (due to a decrease in testosterone levels)

  • Hyperthyroidism,

  • Brain, liver and kidney diseases or tumors,

  • Tea tree, lavender, female gingseng extracts used in body shampoos, soaps or oils,

  • Severe nutritional disorders

are the main reasons.

The situation often gets even worse when the individual tries to solve the problem with heavy pectoralis exercises.

 

Men who think their breasts are large and this restricts their lives in daily life are candidates for the operation.
