Preoperative Period

Surgery will be performed under general anesthesia, blood  tests, chest X-ray and ECG will be requested by the anesthesiology Breast USG and/or mammography will be requested to form a basis for future follow-up and in order not miss any solid or cystic masses that need to be removed- especially in patients aged over 35 years.

Thus, masses may not be noticed by physical examination will be determined accurately, to be removed during the operation.

All resected tissues shall be sent to pathological examination after surgery.

In the preoperative interview, the patient should state her desire for size and shape. Factors such as the 3-dimensional complex structure of the breast tissue, the content of each breast in terms of breast and fat tissue, masses that need to be removed and anatomy of the sensational nerves and nutritional vessels of the nipple will considered during this meeting.

 

Although, patient's expectations from are always decisive, you should consider your surgeon's recommendations.

After this step, surgical techniques and incisions will be discussed in the light of the previous decisions.

Patients who are planning to have a child or teenagers present a very special group. The effect of the intervention on breastfeeding is inevitable. It is aimed to protect the milk glands and very fine structure of complicated milk canal microstructure as much as possible, by meticilous preoperative planning and surgical technique.
