Pre-operative evaluation:
Your medical history will be questioned and your photos will be taken in addition to your detailed examination.
A CT scan may be required in severely deformed noses.
In the preoperative interview, we will throughly discuss:
-
What are your expectations?
-
What can be done- realistically?
-
What should be done?
-
What is ideal for you?
Your dream appearance may not always be suitable for your face or your expectations may not coincide with what can be done.
Your request about your nose appearance is always decisive.
Computer-aided design is extremely helpful as it provides concrete tips on what you want and whether the nose you want will suit your face. The biggest advantage in computer-aided work is the possibility of a unique design for your very unique face. For example, some want the tip of the nose pointed and raised, while others may find it unnatural.
A nose that you admire may not be suitable for you. At this point, a healthy assessment is made with the computer aided design.
The surgery plan will be structured on computer study. All surgery is planned based on the measurements to be made here. Thus, without the need for long and vague conversations in front of the mirror, you can express your wishes clearly, and I can make preoperative planning accurately.
On the other hand, the operation to be performed is entirely different from table, chair or building construction . An extremely complicated wound healing process after surgery is very important in the outcome. The response of tissues to surgery is different from person to person. Example to this phenomenon is swelling and bruises that may occur in some people while some may not. Small surface irregularities may also occur in the late postoperative period rarely, due tothis biologic response. Ideal results may not be possible in people with thick and oily skin structure or in patients who had undergone previous nose operations.
Rhinoplasty surgery can be done with "open" or "closed technique". In open technique, a vey small incision is made in the lower part of the tip of the nose. Open surgery is preferred in patients who require intervention in the nasal tip, had previous surgery or with severe septal curvature. Because of the nature of the region, incision heals without any scar. The technique to be applied is determined during the interview.
